VE-Day 75

This year to mark the 75th Anniversary of the end of Second World War in Europe, the RAF Air Cadets from across Merseyside Wing paraded in the own homes to show their respects to those who served in our Armed Forces during that conflict, when at 1100, a two minutes silence was observed and salutes offered in their memory, both to those no longer with us and to those who remain to remember them.

This year’s VE Day Celebrations and Parades across the country had to be cancelled due to the lockdown caused due to the spread of the Coronavirus (COVID-19), but this did not mean that the occasion should not have been commemorated in an suitable fashion for the circumstances. This Remote Parade was organised with the permission of Wing Commander Joe O’Riley, Officer Commanding Merseyside Wing Air Cadets so as not to miss this historic event.
